On the afternoon of September 6, it was noted that the residential access road along km212 of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway through Ham Thuan commune, Lam Dong province was flooded with underpass and access road.
Rising water in the Song Thang bridge area caused the residential access road to be cut off on both sides. People cannot pass through this location. Households wishing to travel through this location must take a detour and travel further.
According to observations, the surrounding fields were flooded with white water. On the night of September 5, there was prolonged heavy rain in the area.
Water from upstream flooded and rose, causing flooding in many houses in Ku Ke village, Ham Thuan commune, about 4km from the underpass.
Previously, in July 2023, a similar flooding occurred at the underpass at km212 of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway. The units have brought in machinery to repair the problem. After more than 2 years, the underpass and residential access road here were flooded again.
The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway is over 100 km long, open to traffic since May 2023, and is a section of the North - South Expressway in the East. The route has 4 lanes, with a maximum speed of 90 km/h. Along the expressway, there are residential access roads, overpasses, and underpasses for local people to travel.
