On August 20, Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee informed that Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam - Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee - has just chaired a working session with the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Project Management Board) to review the project implementation progress, disbursement of public investment capital in the past and direct key tasks in the coming time.
According to the report of the Project Management Board, the unit is directly managing 61 projects, including: 2 national key projects; 6 key projects of the province; 14 other projects invested by the Board; 8 projects received from Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board; 31 projects received from district level after dissolution.
For key projects, the component project of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section under the North-South Expressway Construction Project in the East phase 2021-2025 has completed the main route and put it into operation from April 2026.
The Project Management Board is continuing to coordinate with relevant units to thoroughly handle arising problems. For the North-South high-speed railway project, the Board is focusing on preparing 38 detailed planning dossiers, including 28 master plan dossiers and 10 1/500 scale detailed planning dossiers for resettlement areas. Up to now, localities have approved 14/28 master plan dossiers and approved 8/10 planning tasks.
For other projects implemented by the Project Management Board, the unit is focusing on accelerating the construction progress of 4 projects, striving to complete the entire project to organize acceptance and handover for use in 2026.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam requested the Project Management Board, departments, branches, and localities to change their thinking and working methods, meet the work requirements in the new situation; projects with completion progress in 2026 must be completed, striving to disburse 100% of public investment.
Agencies, units, and localities must proactively and definitively resolve tasks under their authority, without shirking or avoiding, affecting the overall progress. For contents requesting opinions, departments and branches must respond within 3 days, going straight to solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, not just citing legal regulations. Guidance must be specific and unified so that communes and wards have a basis for implementation.
The Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested to review the capacity of all contractors; if contractors do not meet the requirements for progress and capacity, they must be considered and handled, not allowing it to affect the project progress. Contractors who have signed contracts must fulfill their commitments, ensuring quality, technical and project efficiency.
