On August 15, at the Quang Ngai Provincial Conference and Exhibition Center, the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks organized the 30th anniversary of its establishment (August 16, 1996 - August 16, 2026).

Speaking at the anniversary ceremony, Mr. Luong Kim Son - Head of the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks said that to date, Quang Ngai economic zones and industrial parks have attracted more than 440 projects, with a total registered capital of nearly 20 billion USD, including 63 FDI projects with registered capital of more than 2.5 billion USD. About 350 projects are operating, creating jobs for more than 81,000 workers.

Many large-scale projects have formed key industries such as oil refining and petrochemicals, metallurgy, mechanics, processing, manufacturing, energy and logistics. Dung Quat Oil Refinery has contributed more than 10 billion USD to the state budget; two Hoa Phat Iron and Steel Production Complexes have a total investment of about 7.47 billion USD, with a capacity of more than 11 million tons of steel/year.
Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc requested Quang Ngai to strongly shift to a green, smart, and modern development model; and at the same time remove bottlenecks in infrastructure, technology, environment and regional linkages.
Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc oriented Dung Quat to become a "Green, smart, modern economic zone", with 3 pillars including: Refinery and energy center; Heavy industry and new material production center; Logistics center.
In which, Quang Ngai needs to accelerate the transformation of existing industrial parks into ecological industrial parks, prioritizing attracting clean industry, high technology, deep processing and large value-added projects.
Accepting the directions, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam - Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province will focus on implementing key groups of solutions, aiming to build Dung Quat and satellite industrial parks into dynamic, green, smart, and modern marine economic centers.
Quang Ngai will accelerate the transition to a green, circular economy; upgrade existing industrial parks into ecological industrial parks; selectively attract high-tech projects, green industries, develop downstream ecosystems of oil refining - chemicals - hydrogen - LNG, high-quality steel and new materials.
At the ceremony, Quang Ngai province awarded Investment Registration Certificates to 8 projects in Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks.
Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc also presented a symbolic plaque of 2 billion VND to support the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ngai province.
