On August 31, people from many places flocked to the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh commune, Hanoi) to visit the National Achievement Exhibition with the theme "80 years of independence - freedom - Happiness", on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.
The attraction of the special event has caused Truong Sa route (National Highway 5) - the main axis leading to the Center to fall into a state of overload and serious congestion.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper at noon on August 31, Truong Sa Street with 10 lanes on each side is crowded with cars. Many motorbikes, even cars take risks to the sidewalk to shorten travel time.
Starting from their house in Tuong Mai ward (Hanoi) at 9am, at 12pm, the family of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lai (40 years old) still could not get to the National Exhibition Center to visit the National Achievement Exhibition.
His family followed the Vinh Tuy bridge - National Highway 5, when they arrived at Dong Tru bridge, they encountered serious congestion. When the car " immediately" reached the entrance to the Exhibition, Mr. Lai was guided by the authorities to move through another route and then turned around to reduce traffic congestion.
"Everyone is impatient but still tries to wait to get in, because the Exhibition is a special occasion to review the tradition and be proud of the achievements of the nation" - Mr. Lai said.

At 9:00 a.m. this morning, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu (24 years old) took a bus with his friend from his house in Cau Giay to the National Exhibition Center to visit the country's socio-economic achievements display booths.
After more than 2 hours of being "stuck" on Truong Sa Street, Mr. Tu and his friend asked the bus driver to get them off the bus to walk to the Exhibition.
"As long as the Exhibition is 4km away, the vehicles have to move slowly, sometimes standing still for an hour, so I decided to get out and walk, because I don't know when I will get there" - Mr. Tu said.
In addition to Mr. Tu, many people chose to get off the bus and accept to walk a distance of 4-5km. According to them, walking at this time will definitely be faster than cars.
To reduce traffic pressure, many officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police have been mobilized to hot spots, directly dividing traffic, and guiding people. The authorities had to divide the flow of vehicles to avoid conflicts, and prioritize the path for buses and passenger cars.
As the afternoon went on, the flow of people and vehicles to the Exhibition area increased. People and vehicles are still patiently waiting to visit the booth displaying the country's socio-economic achievements.
The event is expected to continue to attract a large number of people and visitors in the coming days, especially during the National Day holiday on September 2.
Authorities recommend that people should proactively arrange their time, choose public transport to limit traffic congestion and ensure safety when visiting the exhibition.
