According to the latest statistics from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police, from April 15 to May 14, the city's traffic police force handled 3,791 cases of alcohol concentration violations, down 13.5% compared to the previous month. Many patrol cases have not detected any violations.
At noon on May 21, the Working Group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 2, led by Lieutenant Colonel Mai Xuan Tu, organized an inspection on Thuy Khue Street (Tay Ho District). During nearly 2 hours of checking many vehicles, no cases of alcohol concentration violations were detected. However, some cases of motorbike drivers not wearing helmets or license plates have been detected and handled.

"Previously, each case could detect 4 - 5 cases of alcohol concentration violations, but now it has decreased a lot. This is a positive signal, showing that people's awareness of law compliance has been significantly raised," said Lieutenant Colonel Mai Xuan Tu.
According to statistics, from April 15 to May 14, the whole city had 93 traffic accidents, killing 46 people and injuring 75 people.
Compared to the same period in 2024, accidents have decreased sharply in all three criteria, including: decreasing by 60 cases (39.2%), decreasing by 19 deaths (29.2%) and 82 injuries (52.2%).

According to the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, since the beginning of the year, the unit has synchronously deployed solutions to ensure traffic order and safety.
The authorities focus on handling violations that are the main causes of accidents, such as: alcohol concentration, drugs, overloaded transportation, vehicle body expansion... with the spirit of "no days off" to contribute to ensuring traffic safety for people.
