After nearly 10 years of going to work and returning home by bus, I have been buying monthly tickets for a long time and recently the form of payment and using a smartphone application to replace paper tickets is a big step in Hanoi public transportation.
However, each business unit uses a different ticket model. Transerco tickets cannot be used to pay for Hai Yen or Vinbus vehicles, of course they cannot be used to take the elevated train.
This problem will be changed. It is expected that from September 2, the interconnected ticket system will officially be launched, not only applying to public passenger transport routes in Hanoi but also having the ability to expand the connection nationwide.
This is the content informed by Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Construction Do Viet Hai at the seminar "Smart payment solutions for modern transportation" recently organized by the Government Electronic Information Portal.
One of the first and most important reasons for building an interconnected ticket system is the actual need. Currently, the Government has issued regulations on no cash use, to create convenience, civilization, friendliness, and transparency for traffic participants in the public passenger transport system. This system does not stop at public passenger transport but also connects with other types of transactions in the future.
To build this connecting ticket system, in addition to technical frameworks and projects on developing smart urban transport, the representative of the Department of Construction said that it is necessary to develop a specific ticket policy for each ticket type, each service type and ensure openness and connectivity not only with types of passenger transport services but also with other types of services. This system is not only connected to public passenger transport but also connected to automatic toll collection, parking lots and service use not only in the capital.
Thus, from September 2, with just one monthly ticket card, I can take all types of public transport such as buses and trains. This is what people need and is also a factor for people to use public transport more.
