More than 10km from the center of Dang Thuy Tram commune, Cay Muoi and Nuoc Dang villages have 234 households with 818 people. For many years, the only road leading to the two villages has been muddy in the rainy season and dusty in the dry season.
Mr. Pham Van Hoa (in Cay Muoi village) said that the road has seriously deteriorated for many years. In the sunny season, people have to struggle to overcome rugged and jagged rocky slopes.
In the rainy season, many locations are landslides, road surfaces are muddy, slippery, and stream water rises, making travel even more dangerous. What worries people the most is every time someone is sick and needs to be taken to the emergency room or students have to go to school in unfavorable weather conditions.
Traffic difficulties also directly affect people's livelihoods. Keo, cassava and many types of agricultural and forestry products after harvest must be transported through bumpy dirt roads. At many times, trucks cannot get to the place, people have to transit by small vehicles or wait many days to bring goods out for consumption.
Ms. Pham Thi Lanh (in Nuoc Dang village) shared that every harvest season, people hope for favorable weather so that transportation is less arduous. However, degraded roads have increased transportation costs, and traders are also hesitant to go to the place to buy.
From the actual needs of the locality, previously, Ba To district (old) approved the investment policy for the Ba To road to Cay Muoi village with a total investment of 95 billion VND.
However, during the project development process, environmental impact assessment results showed that some sections of the route pass through natural forest areas. According to the provisions of forestry law, the conversion of natural forest use purposes is strictly controlled, so the initial plan cannot be implemented.
To remove obstacles, specialized agencies have adjusted the route direction according to the current road status to limit the impact on natural forests, while reducing construction, compensation and site clearance costs. According to the new plan, the total investment of the project is adjusted to 88 billion VND.
After implementing the two-level local government model, the project was assigned to the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor, and at the same time renamed DT. 627C route to Cay Muoi village, Dang Thuy Tram commune. Up to now, after adjusting the project and carrying out investment preparation procedures, the project has not yet been implemented.
According to Mr. Le Huu Trinh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Dang Thuy Tram commune, this is a traffic route of special significance for the development of the locality. The road connects Dang Thuy Tram commune with An Lao commune (Gia Lai province).
While Gia Lai has completed the concrete road to the administrative boundary of Cay Muoi village, Quang Ngai is still unfinished. The locality has repeatedly proposed to higher levels to soon allocate resources to implement the project, meeting the expectations of the people.
At the same time, this road also leads to the Dong Lon area - where Heroic Martyr, Doctor Dang Thuy Tram heroically sacrificed. When the road is invested, connecting to this red address will be more convenient, contributing to promoting historical values, traditional education and developing tourism to the source.
