As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported, due to the impact of torrential rain and floods from the end of September to the beginning of October 2025, a section of the negative taluy on National Highway 2 adjacent to the Lo River bank, in Ha Giang 1 ward, Tuyen Quang province, was seriously landslide.
The landslide section from Km295+995 to Km296+200 has been eroded deeply, forming a frog jaw, the newly completed sidewalk and underground structures are almost destroyed. The positive taluy landslide from the end of 2024 has not been completely overcome, which has also narrowed the road surface.
Although the landslide location has been marked with warning signs and ropes, it is still rudimentary, while the remedial construction work cannot be carried out immediately. This has caused traffic participants to worry about the risk of unsafety.

Immediately after the reflection of Lao Dong Newspaper, functional agencies of Tuyen Quang province erected solid barriers at the landslide site to strengthen safety for traffic participants. Warning signs and instructions were also repaired and replaced to increase recognition.
The positive taluy collapsed from the end of 2024, causing soil and rocks to spill onto the road, is also being moved elsewhere, increasing the traffic area on the road surface for vehicles.
On January 12, in an exchange with PV, a representative of the investor (Coordination Board of Foreign-invested Projects of Tuyen Quang province) said that the investor had directed the construction unit to install solid fences, ensuring safety from the beginning of January 2025. However, this was not carried out until January 10.

Also according to the Foreign Capital Project Coordination Board of Tuyen Quang province, the remediation and repair of the landslide location cannot be carried out immediately because it is still necessary to carry out geological drilling and inspection to develop a plan for handling and building embankments.
After surveying and evaluating, it will be submitted to the provincial specialized agency for appraisal, and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval for adjustment before organizing construction. This will take time," the investor representative added.
National Highway 2 is currently a vital traffic route connecting from Hanoi, the center of Tuyen Quang province to Ha Giang 1, Ha Giang 2 wards and Thanh Thuy International Border Gate, with high vehicle density.
Rain and floods at the end of September and the beginning of October 2025 caused heavy damage to transport infrastructure in Tuyen Quang province. More than 20 bridges were destroyed and swept away. About 250 locations of roads were damaged with a volume of landslides of nearly 34,000m3 affecting traffic flow.
