The impact of torrential rain and floods from the end of September to the beginning of October 2025 has caused a section of the negative taluy on National Highway 2 adjacent to the Lo River bank, in Ha Giang 1 ward, Tuyen Quang province to be seriously eroded.
The landslide section from Km295+995 to Km296+200 has been deeply eroded, forming a frog jaw. To date, after more than 3 months, it has not been possible to complete the remediation.
Recorded at the beginning of January 2026, at the landslide site, barriers were erected and construction warning signs were placed at both ends. However, there was no presence of workers and construction vehicles.

The landslide of the negative taluy area is showing signs of expansion, eroding deep into the roadbed, revealing underground structures and forming walls nearly ten meters high above the surface of the Lo River. Meanwhile, the sidewalk items have mostly been destroyed and swept away.
This is a vital national highway connecting from Hanoi, the center of Tuyen Quang province to Ha Giang 1, Ha Giang 2 wards and Thanh Thuy International Border Gate, with high vehicle density. The serious landslide on the route makes people particularly worried.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tu (Hung Yen province) said that due to landslides, the road approaching the Lo River is narrowed, and vehicles have to encroach on the opposite lane, which is quite dangerous.
I drive a passenger car on the Hung Yen - Ha Giang route, so I pass through this area every day, although there are warnings and barriers, it is dark and visibility is limited, so it is very dangerous. I also hope the repairs will be completed soon, otherwise I will be in a mess like this and I will not be able to travel comfortably," Mr. Tu worried.

Recently, responding to voters' petitions in Tuyen Quang province regarding the repair of National Highway 2, the Ministry of Construction said that in 2025, the Ministry allocated 138.3 billion VND to the province (including 48.3 billion VND for management and maintenance of national highways after decentralization and 90 billion VND to support flood and storm recovery). Therefore, Tuyen Quang province is responsible for proactively researching plans to repair, upgrade and overcome the consequences of natural disasters on National Highway 2 according to regulations.
On January 7, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Song Ha - Chairman of Ha Giang 1 Ward People's Committee said that the Provincial Foreign Capital Project Management Board is deploying to overcome the landslide incident on National Highway 2, this is an urgent project.
Immediately after the landslide, functional agencies deployed drilling exploration and carried out repairs. Signs and ropes were installed to ensure safety for vehicles passing through here," the leader added.
It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
