Eight stations on the Nhon - Hanoi Station urban railway line will test-operate the system of ID card gates, electronic authentication and biometric identification from January 1st to 15th, 2026.
This is information provided by Hanoi Railway One Member Limited Liability Company (Hanoi Metro) about the organization of testing of the system of ticket gates for identification, electronic authentication and biometric identification at stations on urban railway line No. 3.1, Nhon - Hanoi Station section.
Accordingly, during the trial period, train passengers can use many forms of tickets and payment methods such as turn tickets (purchased on the Hanoi Metro application or at the counter), time tickets (day, week, month tickets), Visa cards, citizen identification cards with chips for passengers over 60 years old, and electronic payment methods such as MoMo, ShopeePay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay...
To encourage people to get acquainted with the smart ticket system, passengers after completing their identification on the Hanoi Metro application will be fully sponsored with round ticket fees when buying tickets through the application. This policy does not apply to round tickets purchased directly at the counter.
Passengers using Visa cards to travel by train will also be fully subsidized for tickets until the end of February 28, 2026 or until the funded budget runs out.
During the trial and conversion phase, Hanoi Metro still maintains the old and new ticket gate systems on route 3.1 in parallel, ensuring smooth passenger transport operations, without causing interruption or inconvenience to people.
