Hanoi - The completion of the Au Co Street expansion project and the Xuan Dieu Street upgrade project will help reduce traffic congestion and contribute to changing the traffic landscape of Tay Ho district.

In 2020, Hanoi will expand Au Co - Nghi Tam road (Tay Ho district) to reduce traffic congestion on the main artery connecting Hanoi center with Noi Bai International Airport.

The project is 3.7km long, starting at Thang Loi Hotel and ending at Nhat Tan intersection with a total investment of 544 billion VND.

According to the original plan, the expansion was expected to be completed after 1 year, but the project was continuously delayed due to design changes and limited construction time.

According to Lao Dong's records at the end of September 2024, after many delays, the Au Co - Nghi Tam road has completed the final stages.

The completed route has a cross-section of 26.5m to 31m, of which the main road surface is 16.5m to 21m wide (equivalent to 4 to 6 lanes).

People living around the project are free from pollution and traffic jams after a long wait.

The completion of the Au Co - Nghi Tam road expansion project contributes to relieving traffic congestion and ensuring traffic connection between Hanoi center and Noi Bai International Airport.

For many years, Xuan Dieu Street has also been a traffic jam in Tay Ho District (Hanoi).

The narrow road surface while receiving a large number of vehicles every day causes frequent traffic jams, making it difficult for people to travel.

To solve the above situation, in 2020, Tay Ho district invested in expanding Xuan Dieu street 1.1km long, with an investment capital of nearly 400 billion VND.

The starting point of the project intersects with To Ngoc Van Street, the end point intersects with Au Co Street, expanded on the basis of the existing road, in which the roadway is 10.5m wide, the sidewalk is 5m wide.

The project is expected to be completed in 2021 but is behind schedule due to problems in site clearance.

In fact, the Xuan Dieu road upgrade project has been basically completed and nearly 1km of technical route has been opened.

The remaining section of more than 100m (near Tu Hoa intersection) will not be completed until June 2024, involving 11 households with a recovered area of more than 700m2.

Up to now, more than 100m of Xuan Dieu Street (the last section of the route) has been completed by the contractor after a long delay.

The completion of the expansion of Xuan Dieu Street in sync with the technical opening of Au Co - Nghi Tam Street will help solve traffic congestion in the area, contributing to changing the traffic landscape in Tay Ho District.
