Nearly 6 years ago, in December 2018, Long Bien District (Hanoi) started the project to build a road connecting Nguyen Van Cu Street to the end of the resettlement area of Ngoc Thuy Ward. The total investment of this project is about 1,200 billion VND.
Long Bien District is expected to complete a 1.5km long road with a 40m cross-section and 6 lanes by 2020.
However, the project could not be completed as originally planned due to difficulties in site clearance and many changes in policies.
According to the Long Bien District Construction Investment Project Management Board (representing the investor), to implement the project, it is necessary to recover land from about 485 households, individuals and organizations, of which about 176 households will be resettled. To date, the site clearance work has been basically completed.
As of mid-September, the project has basically completed main items such as asphalt pavement, sidewalk paving, tree system, lighting...
Currently, the contractor is focusing on completing some items such as paving the sidewalk and asphalting the road surface at the end of the route (Ngoc Thuy intersection).
The highlight of the route is the steel overpass at the Hong Tien - Nguyen Van Cu intersection, which has basically completed all items. The project has a length and approach road of about 400m, designed with 2 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed vehicles.
The project is expected to be inaugurated on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10), creating a smooth route from Dong Tru Bridge through Thuong Thanh, Ngoc Thuy, Ngoc Lam, Bo De, Long Bien, and Thach Ban wards connecting to the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway.
10km away, the Le Quang Dao extended road construction project will also be completed and technically opened to traffic on October 10.
The project is about 2.6km long, starting at the intersection with Thang Long Avenue, Nam Tu Liem district, and ending at Duong Noi urban area, Ha Dong district.
The project has a total investment of more than 700 billion VND, of which construction costs are more than 408 billion VND.
According to the design, the route will have inter-regional road standards, a cross-section of 40m with 6 lanes, and a design speed of 60 km/h. The section connecting to Thang Long Avenue (about 110m long) will have a cross-section width of 100m.
The representative of the investor, the Nam Tu Liem District Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that to implement the Le Quang Dao extended road project, about 11.86 hectares must be reclaimed. Currently, the problem of site clearance has been resolved.
Currently, the intersection with Thang Long Avenue to Dai Linh Street (Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi) nearly 1km long has basically completed the main items.
This road section is paved with stone sidewalks, asphalt pavement, trees, lighting system and fire fighting water supply system.
Meanwhile, the remaining section from Dai Linh Street to the end of the route is under construction, waiting for connection.
To complete the project on October 10, the investor is currently directing the contractor to mobilize maximum machinery, workers, and engineers to work in 3 shifts continuously to ensure the project's progress.
The route, when completed, is expected to help shorten travel time between Nam Tu Liem and Ha Dong districts, reducing traffic pressure on many routes in the area.
