For many years, Xuan Dieu Street has been a traffic jam in Tay Ho district (Hanoi).
The narrow road surface while receiving a large number of vehicles every day causes frequent traffic jams, making it difficult for people to travel.
To solve the above situation, in 2020, Tay Ho district invested in expanding Xuan Dieu street 1.1 km long, with an investment capital of nearly 400 billion VND.
The starting point of the project intersects with To Ngoc Van Street, the end point intersects with Au Co Street, expanded on the basis of the existing road, in which the roadway is 10.5 m wide, the sidewalk is 5 m wide.
According to the original plan, the expansion was expected to be completed after 1 year, but the project was delayed due to problems in site clearance.
In fact, the Xuan Dieu road upgrade project has been basically completed and nearly 1 km of technical route has been opened.
Only the first section of the route, which is more than 100m long (near the Tu Hoa intersection), has not been able to be constructed for many years due to land acquisition problems in 11 cases, with a total area of 712.02m2.
After many times of propaganda and mobilization, some households agreed to hand over the land to the project. Others did not comply, forcing the Tay Ho district government to organize compulsory land recovery according to regulations.
By June 2024, the locality had handed over the entire remaining site to the contractor to complete the project after many years of delay.
According to Lao Dong's records on the afternoon of September 28, more than 100m of Xuan Dieu Street (first section of the route) has been completed by the contractor, and the items are also basically completed.
Lighting systems, railings, and sidewalks have been installed here. A group of workers are finishing planting flowers and grass on the embankment area.
Mr. Le Xuan Hai (32 years old, Quang An ward, Tay Ho) said that the completion of the first section of Xuan Dieu road helps to remove the bottleneck that has existed for many years at the Xuan Dieu - Au Co intersection.
"During rush hour, traffic flows smoothly, there is no longer local congestion like before" - Mr. Hai excitedly said.
According to the Tay Ho District Construction Investment Project Management Board, the completion of the expansion of Xuan Dieu Street in sync with the technical opening of Au Co - Nghi Tam route will help resolve traffic congestion in the area.
