ETC toll collection system for Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway is ready to operate

Lam Dong - The ETC toll collection system has been inspected and is ready for the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway to officially collect tolls from March 2, 2026.

At noon on March 1, Mr. Nguyen Khac Viet - Director of Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway Project - said that the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway through Lam Dong province will start collecting tolls for cars from March 2, 2026.

According to Mr. Viet, to date, the ETC non-stop toll collection system and network infrastructure have operated stably after 3 months of trial operation with a collection rate of 0 VND. Technical departments have inspected and fixed previous errors.

At exits and entrances at intersections, personnel have been arranged to promptly handle arising incidents, ensuring smooth traffic when officially collecting tolls.

Previously, the Minister of Construction had a document requesting relevant units and organizations to urgently complete the necessary procedures to organize toll collection for expressway use at component projects of public investment under the North-South Expressway in the East phase 2017 - 2020.

To ensure progress, the Ministry of Construction requests Project Management Boards to quickly accept and complete construction items according to regulations, as a basis for putting them into operation and organizing toll collection on 5 routes including: Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay, Mai Son - National Highway 45, National Highway 45 - Nghi Son and Nghi Son - Dien Chau.

The Department of Planning and Finance is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Project Management Boards and the Vietnam Road Administration to advise the Ministry of Construction to issue decisions assigning management and exploitation of road traffic infrastructure assets at the above-mentioned component projects, to be completed on March 1, 2026.

The Vietnam Road Administration is responsible for reporting to the Ministry of Construction on the handover of management and exploitation of road traffic infrastructure assets on March 1, 2026.

After completing these procedures, toll collection will be implemented simultaneously from March 2, 2026.

Previously, the Ministry of Construction had approved toll rates for 5 component projects of the North-South Expressway in the East, expected to be collected from March 1, 2026. However, the actual implementation milestone is determined after completing all procedures for handover and asset management.

Previously, on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, toll stations have been test-operated in the form of 0 VND toll collection in the past time for technical inspection and data connection system.
