After a prolonged heavy rain, accompanied by the impact of storm No. 2 from July 15 to 28, 2024, provincial road 435, the section passing through Suoi Hoa commune (Tan Lac district) experienced serious landslides at Km27+750 and Km28+400.
This is a vital traffic route serving life, production and connecting the hydroelectric reservoir area with the district center.

At Km27+750, the road has a slide down the left slope, forming a slide with the top approaching the right edge of the road (the road surface is 8m of asphalt concrete).
Slide cut through the roadside, about 45m wide at the edge of the road on the left; The peak of the bow slides about 45m away from the leg; The crack is 35cm wide, the road surface is about 1.2m deepest.Below we also appear secondary cracks, almost perpendicular to the heart of the road, the closest point is about 26m away from the road shoulder, about 50m long.
Similarly, at km28+400, the road slipped the roof of the roof on the left, forming a sliding arc with the top of the ground on the right.Slide cut through the roadside, about 50m wide at the edge of the road on the left; The crack is about 5cm wide; The curb and the roof we tend to pull down.
Below we have the secondary crack appear: the number 1 shoulder is about 19m, about 38m long; The number 2 cracks are almost perpendicular to the heart of the road, about 35m from the shoulder, about 15m long; The number 3 crack is about 135m away from the road, about 36m long.

According to Lao Dong reporters in early April 2025, at two landslides at Km27+750 and Km28+400 on Provincial Road 435, the scene was still messy, with temporary barriers made of bamboo stakes, tires and warning ropes erected to warn road users.
The road surface is peeling, with deep holes and long cracks appearing, making it extremely difficult to move through this area, posing many potential dangers.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (36 years old, residing in Hoa Binh city) shared: "This is a vital route leading to communes along the lake, where there are many community tourism attractions. People really hope that the project will be implemented soon so that they can travel with peace of mind, develop production, especially tourism".

Regarding the repair and remediation work, the Hoa Binh Department of Construction said that on August 6, 2024, the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province issued Decision No. 1483/QD-UBND to announce an emergency natural disaster situation.
On December 25, 2024, the province issued Decision No. 2818/QD-UBND on the construction of emergency works to ensure traffic safety and people's lives.
The solution is to build two overpasses at landslide locations. The permanent bridge is made of reinforced concrete, 9m wide, with a continuous girder structure, each span is 12m long. The bridge at Km27+750 has 8 spans, the bridge at Km28+400 has 9 spans. The bridge foundation and pillars use 1m in diameter bored piles.
The Department of Construction has approved the construction drawing design on March 26, 2025 and is selecting a contractor. The project is expected to start construction on April 15, 2025 and be completed in mid-September 2025.
The total investment is more than 71.2 billion VND, of which 1.6 billion VND is from the provincial budget reserve in 2024, the remaining 69.5 billion VND is from increased land use fee revenue.
