Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc - the officer in charge of safety of the Dai Ngai 2 Bridge Project (Construction Corporation No. 1 - CC1), said that starting from August 1, all types of vehicles with 16 seats or less, trucks under 3.5 tons, rudimentary vehicles, and motorbikes will be temporarily allowed to travel across the bridge. The temporary circulation helps people's vehicles travel and transport agricultural products conveniently, quickly, ensuring safety and saving time.
To ensure safety, the unit has installed a traffic safety sign system. During the temporary circulation period, vehicles are only allowed to run at a maximum speed of 20km/h.
Mr. Duc also informed that up to now, the main bridge of Dai Ngai 2 bridge has been basically completed, reaching nearly 100% of the volume. Some contractors are continuing to complete the bridge surface aesthetic items. The approach bridges and approach roads at both ends of the bridge are in the loading phase to monitor subsidence. The unloading is expected to take place at the end of October 2025, after which the contractors will continue construction, striving to complete the entire approach road in 2025.

Mr. Le Van Dung, residing in An Phu hamlet, An Thanh commune, Can Tho city, expressed his joy when coming to see Dai Ngai 2 bridge: "In the past, to cross the river, having to take a ferry was very inconvenient because it took a long wait. Our people really hope to have a bridge. Now that I have, I am very happy, travel is convenient, goods are transported faster, and prices will definitely be better. People's seafood and fruit trees will have the opportunity to access a wider market".
The Dai Ngai bridge project has a total length of more than 15km, with a total cost of nearly VND8,000 billion. The starting point intersects with National Highway 54, in Tieu Can commune, Vinh Long province (formerly Hung Hoa commune, Tieu Can district, Tra Vinh province). The end point intersects with Nam Song Hau National Highway, in Dai Ngai Commune, Can Tho City (formerly Long Duc Commune, Long Phu District, Soc Trang Province).
The project includes 2 main bridge works, Dai Ngai 1 bridge and Dai Ngai 2 bridge. After completion, the project will help open National Highway 60, shortening the distance from the Mekong Delta coastal provinces to Ho Chi Minh City by about 80km.
