On April 15, the Office of Hue City People's Committee informed that it had just issued a document agreeing on a plan to organize traffic for semi-trailers and trailer trailers on National Highway 49 (section from Ho Chi Minh Road to Hue bypass).
Accordingly, these vehicles are only allowed to circulate at night, from 7 pm to 5 am the next morning to ensure traffic safety and facilitate customs clearance of goods through border gates and seaports.
Specifically, from 7 pm to 12 pm, vehicles travel in one direction from the Ho Chi Minh road intersection to the Hue bypass. From 0 am to 5 am the next morning, vehicles travel in one direction in the opposite direction.
In addition, functional agencies will review and supplement the sign system, especially at curved sections with small radii to limit speed and ensure safety.
The plan will be piloted for 1 month, expected until May 15, 2026.
Hue City People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the City Police and related units to deploy traffic organization, complete the sign system and widely announce for organizations and individuals to implement.
After the pilot period, the units will evaluate the effectiveness and propose appropriate plans for the next phase.
