On December 8, at the site of the two accidents, according to the reporter's observations, from Km109+800 to Km110+800, National Highway 6 (Phong Phu commune, Tan Lac district) is a steep, curved road with limited visibility, and very few houses on both sides of the road.
In this area, at around 1:30 a.m. on December 2, (Km110+77), a traffic accident occurred between a passenger bus and a motorbike, killing 3 young men. Initially, the police determined that the passenger bus driver had recklessly overtaken and was driving on the wrong side of the road (going completely into the lane reserved for oncoming traffic), causing the accident.
Then, at around 10:30 p.m. on December 3, about 10 meters from the above accident location, another accident occurred, killing a 12-year-old girl (sitting on a motorbike).
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong (43 years old, a truck driver who regularly travels on National Highway 6) said: "The location of the two accidents is right at the curve, out of sight. After the two serious traffic accidents mentioned above, the Traffic Safety Committee of Hoa Binh Province, the Road Management Department I.1 (Vietnam Road Administration); the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police and Tan Lac District inspected the scene and agreed on a preliminary solution to handle this unsafe traffic point.
Initially, speed bumps will be installed, signs limiting the maximum speed to 60 km/h and speed bumps will be painted, as well as patrolling, checking, handling and guiding vehicles to comply with traffic laws, limiting unfortunate traffic accidents.
In another development, on December 4, Colonel Do Thanh Binh - Director of Hoa Binh Provincial Police - chaired a meeting to discuss solutions to reduce tragic accidents.
The Director of the Hoa Binh Provincial Police Department requested that units regularly maintain special patrol and control activities on key routes and areas. In particular, strictly handle acts of driving vehicles when underage, acts of handing over vehicles to underage people...
