On March 30, at the first session of the 11th Lam Dong Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031, delegates agreed on a number of contents related to the implementation of the Nha Trang - Da Lat expressway construction investment project in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), BOT contract.

Accordingly, the People's Council of Lam Dong province agreed to let the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province be the competent agency to organize research and implement the project.
At the same time, agree on the division of the project into component projects, including compensation, site clearance, support, resettlement and construction of temporary works in Lam Dong province.
According to the appraisal report of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the project aims to form a connecting axis for the Central Highlands region with the South Central Coast, linking with vertical traffic axes, contributing to promoting the efficiency of infrastructure projects that have been and are being invested in.

The project also connects economic centers and seaports, meeting transportation needs; and at the same time creates development space, contributing to ensuring national defense, security, and sustainable poverty reduction.
The Nha Trang - Da Lat expressway project is about 80.8km long; starting point in Dien Tho commune (Khanh Hoa), connecting to the North - South expressway in the East; ending point in the Darahoa intersection area (Da Lat, Lam Dong).
The road is designed with 4 lanes, a roadbed width of 22-24.75m, and a design speed of 80-100km/h. The total estimated investment is more than 25,000 billion VND.
Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa provinces propose to implement the project before 2030, prioritizing allocation of central budget capital for the 2026-2030 period and implementing it in the form of PPP.
Currently, Son Hai Group Co., Ltd. has proposed to participate in investing in the project under the BOT contract.
Currently, National Highway 27C is the main connecting route between Da Lat and Nha Trang, passing through Khanh Le Pass, nearly 30km long, many sections are steep, dangerous curves, and landslides have occurred, affecting traffic.
