On March 30, the Hanoi People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City organized a conference to transfer and receive associations assigned tasks by the Party and State, within the city scope, to be directly under the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City.
According to the decision, the transfer is carried out on the principle of maintaining the entire organizational structure, number of employees, finance, assets and related rights and obligations of the associations.
The list of 18 associations includes: Union of Science and Technology Associations; Cooperative Alliance; Union of Friendship Organizations; Union of Literary and Art Associations; Journalists Association; Red Cross Society; Association for Promoting Education; Lawyers Association; Former Youth Volunteers Association; Association for the Elderly; Traditional Medicine Association; Medical Association; Association for the Blind; Association for Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin; Association for Supporting People with Disabilities and Orphans; Association for Relief for Disabled Children; Association for People with Disabilities; Association for Former People's Police.
Speaking to direct at the conference, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang said that the transfer of 18 associations to be directly under the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee is an important adjustment step to unify leadership and direction; strengthen coordination and promote the role of the Front in building the great national unity bloc. At the same time, this also contributes to clearly defining the state management function of administrative agencies with the function of gathering and mobilizing the masses of the Fatherland Front and member organizations.
Mr. Vu Dai Thang noted that this is not only a change in organization, but also a shift in operating methods towards being more synchronous, tighter and more effective. Therefore, the transfer process must be carried out seriously, fully, and in accordance with regulations; and at the same time ensure the continuous operation of associations, without interruption, affecting the psychology of officials and members.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Bui Huyen Mai said that after socio-political organizations joined the Front's "one roof" from 2025, the continued transfer of associations to be directly under the Fatherland Front is the next step to improve the organizational model and improve the operational efficiency of the political system.
Hanoi is one of the localities taking the lead in implementing this policy. Up to now, the city has completed the transfer of associations in accordance with the direction, ensuring progress and quality" - Ms. Bui Huyen Mai affirmed.
For the transferred associations, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City requested the leaders of the associations to urgently carry out the handover procedures according to regulations; and at the same time proactively review and develop plans to arrange and streamline the organizational structure in accordance with the approved direction.
