The list of 18 associations includes: Union of Science and Technology Associations; Cooperative Alliance; Union of Friendship Organizations; Union of Literary and Art Associations; Journalists Association; Red Cross Society; Association for Promoting Education; Lawyers Association; Former Youth Volunteers Association; Association for the Elderly; Traditional Medicine Association; Medical Association; Association for the Blind; Association for Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin; Association for Supporting People with Disabilities and Orphans; Association for Relief for Disabled Children; Association for People with Disabilities; Association for Former People's Police.

Speaking to direct at the conference, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang said that the transfer of 18 associations to be directly under the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee is an important adjustment step to unify leadership and direction; strengthen coordination and promote the role of the Front in building the great national unity bloc. At the same time, this also contributes to clearly defining the state management function of administrative agencies with the function of gathering and mobilizing the masses of the Fatherland Front and member organizations.

Mr. Vu Dai Thang noted that this is not only a change in organization, but also a shift in operating methods towards being more synchronous, tighter and more effective. Therefore, the transfer process must be carried out seriously, fully, and in accordance with regulations; and at the same time ensure the continuous operation of associations, without interruption, affecting the psychology of officials and members.
