According to Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Transport) - the investor of Dai Ngai Bridge project, the total construction output of the project has reached 55%. The road section has completed about 60% of the roadbed embankment work, striving to complete the loading work in 2024 and wait for subsidence.
Dai Ngai 2 Bridge alone has completed 37/46 cantilever segments, and is installing 1/13 of the super-T girder spans. It is expected to be closed at the end of December 2024 and early January 2025, complete girder installation in February 2025, and strive to basically complete the bridge by April 2025.
Dai Ngai Bridge Construction Investment Project on National Highway 60 in Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces. The total length of the route is about 15.14km, starting at the intersection with National Highway 54, in Hung Hoa commune (Tieu Can district, Tra Vinh province); ending at the intersection with Nam Song Hau National Highway, in Long Duc commune (Long Phu district, Soc Trang province).
The project includes 2 main bridge works (Dai Ngai 1 and Dai Ngai 2 bridges) which are fully invested with 4 lanes. The investment route is divided into phase 1 including 2 lanes with a cross-section width of 12m, design speed of 80km/h, high-class A1 road surface.
After completion, the project will eliminate all ferry crossing points across the river through the coastal provinces of the Mekong Delta from Ca Mau to Ho Chi Minh City, connecting the entire National Highway 60 to improve the transport capacity of the region, creating convenient traffic connections between the southern coastal provinces with each other and with Ho Chi Minh City.
