Quang Tri inspects the progress of 2 key coastal road projects

Quang Tri - Provincial leaders requested to speed up site clearance, complete resettlement areas and completely handle problems in the coastal road project.

On July 18, a working group of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province led by Permanent Vice Chairman Hoang Nam inspected two key projects: the coastal road connecting the East-West economic corridor (phase 1) and the coastal road section passing through Cua Tung and Cua Viet bridges.

At the site, the investor, contractor and local authorities reported progress and difficulties. The East-West coastal road project has handed over 31.6/48km (66%), expected to hand over an additional 10.76km in the third quarter of 2025; the remaining 5.45km will be completed in 2026. Construction and installation has implemented all 4 packages, reaching 598/1,616 billion VND (about 37%).

The Cua Tung - Cua Viet bridge section project affects 305 households, 472 plots of land, and 312 graves that must be relocated. Currently, only 87/230 plots of land in Cua Tung commune have been inventoried. The project is facing difficulties in terms of human resources for site clearance, slow determination of land origin, and has not been transferred to synchronous tasks after implementing the two-level government model.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the urgent completion of resettlement areas, strengthening the local apparatus, and ensuring site clearance on schedule. Contractors must clearly commit to each item and implement it seriously. Relevant departments and branches must report progress weekly, have timely problems and clearly sanction violating contractors.
