On October 6, the Office of the People's Committee of Son La province informed that the Provincial People's Council has just issued a resolution approving the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to other purposes to implement road construction projects.
Accordingly, the converted forest land area includes:
Provincial road project 107C from Chieng Khay commune, Quynh Nhai district to Nam So commune, Tan Uyen district, Lai Chau): Change the purpose of use of 18.87 ha (protection forest 9.88 ha; production forest 4.99 ha; forest outside forestry planning 4.0 ha) in Chieng Khay commune.
Ban Khua - Suoi Don inter-commune road project: Change the purpose of use of 1.6 ha (protection forest 0.14 ha; production forest 1.31 ha; forest outside forestry planning 0.15 ha) in Chieng Khua commune and Long Sap commune, Moc Chau district.
Road project from Hua Chien village (Chieng Muon commune) - Nam Chien hydropower dam (Ngoc Chien commune): Change the purpose of use of 4.81ha (0.35ha special-use forest; 2.15ha protection forest; 2.31ha forest outside forestry planning) in Chieng Muon commune and Nam Pam commune, Muong La district.
Road project from Lua village to Pa Hat village (Pi Toong commune): Change the purpose of use of 2.97ha (protection forest 0.24ha; production forest 0.47ha; forest outside forestry planning 2.26ha) in Pi Toong commune, Muong La district.
Road project from Mao village to Nong Hun village (Chieng Cong commune, Muong La district): Change the purpose of use of 0.14 ha of forest land outside the forestry planning.
