According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, at the invitation of Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang will pay an official visit to Vietnam from October 12 to 14.
This is the first official visit to Vietnam by Chinese Premier Li Qiang in his new position. This official visit to Vietnam by Chinese Premier Li Qiang marks the first time he and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh have met in person in Vietnam.
Previously, on June 24, 2024, in Dalian city, Liaoning province, China, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had talks with Prime Minister Li Cuong on the occasion of attending the 15th Annual Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Dalian and working in China.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang's official visit to Vietnam takes place in the context of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership maintaining a development trend and achieving many positive results.
In recent times, the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and China has been continuously promoted and deepened, especially after the historic mutual visits of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in October 2022, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in December 2023 and most recently, General Secretary and President To Lam in August 2024.
The state visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam is a particularly important foreign activity between Vietnam and China this year. The visit contributes significantly to the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world. During the discussions, the two sides reached a broad common understanding on further strengthening the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership in the direction of "6 more", focusing on concretizing the common understandings and agreements between the two sides.
