Da Lat - After a period of repair, Prenn Pass - the gateway to Da Lat has officially opened to one-way traffic, creating favorable conditions for people and tourists to travel.

At 1:00 p.m. on November 25, after assessing the situation of reinforcing landslides on Prenn Pass, the construction of Larsen Timber Deposit and reinforcing negative slopes has basically met the safety of traffic.

From this time, vehicles (except trucks) traveling on National Highway 20 will start traveling through Prenn Pass - Da Lat gateway (Lam Dong).

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the morning of November 17, at Km224+600 to Km224+700, about 100m of Prenn Pass, a landslide occurred on the negative slope embankment, causing serious landslides.

In the following days, Prenn Pass continued to appear with many other cracks and subsidence locations, with the risk of high landslides with a total length of about 300m.

Units urgently reinforced and treated the surface to prevent the cracks from spreading.

Up to now, the authorities have basically stabilized the landslide roadbed, and vehicles can temporarily travel.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong, Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Construction, said: After a period of repair, Prenn Pass has reopened the route, creating favorable conditions for people and tourists to travel to Da Lat.

However, the current situation of rain and storms is complicated in the province, and construction units are continuing to repair and overcome the route.

Therefore, the Department of Construction recommends that people and vehicles, when traveling through Prenn Pass, pay attention to limiting travel through the route during heavy rain, at night, and have limited visibility except when necessary.

During traffic, pay attention to the current status of the route to promptly handle if an incident occurs.

While participating in traffic, proactively go slowly, comply with traffic signs and traffic diversion plans in areas where repair work is being carried out on the route.

Lam Dong Department of Construction also requested the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police and the People's Committee of Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward to support the arrangement of forces to regularly patrol and control, ensuring smooth and safe traffic during the repair of Prenn Pass.

The No. 1 Construction Investment Project Management Board will organize the installation of a road signaling system in accordance with the construction organization plan and traffic flow on the route.

Along with that, it is recommended that agencies and units inform the above content so that organizations, individuals, and owners of means of transport know and conveniently participate in traffic.
