On the morning of March 3, Mr. Nguyen Khac Viet - Director of Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway Project - said that the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway through Lam Dong province has started collecting tolls from 10 pm on March 2, 2026.
After the time of starting toll collection, the ETC non-stop toll collection system and data transmission line operated stably, without incidents affecting toll collection.

According to records, vehicles passing through toll stations at intersections move smoothly. Although applying non-stop toll collection, the operating unit still arranges technical staff to be on duty at the toll collection area to promptly handle arising situations.
At the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway operation center, on-duty staff continuously monitor the process of vehicles passing through toll stations.

When cars enter the highway, the camera system records data and transmits it directly to the center. The input is designed with many free lanes, without barriers, so vehicles do not have to stop.
At the output of intersections, cameras continue to recognize license plates, automatically determine the travel distance, calculate fees and deduct money from the vehicle owner's traffic account. Output toll stations are equipped with barriers to control the final transaction before the vehicle leaves the route.

The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, 100.7km long, passes through Lam Dong province. The highest toll rate for group 1 vehicles is 90,555 VND/trip; group 5 vehicles is 362,225 VND/trip.
In addition to the toll collection system, the route is also equipped with an intelligent traffic management system. This system allows monitoring vehicles, detecting violations, and promptly handling incidents on the main route.
At each intersection entrance, the weight control system automatically recognizes overloaded vehicles, refuses traffic, and guides turnarounds.

The fact that Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressways are starting to collect tolls has caused many bus companies to worry. Representatives of some transport businesses said they will balance and adjust fares to compensate for the increased costs.
Meanwhile, if choosing to travel on National Highway 1, vehicles have to travel longer distances, take longer, consume more fuel and still incur road use fees.

Also on the evening of March 2, 4 other expressways also implemented toll collection including: Mai Son - National Highway 45, National Highway 45 - Nghi Son, Nghi Son - Dien Chau and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay.
