Progress of 5 large river bridges in Nam Dinh

Nam Dinh - 5 large river bridges in Nam Dinh province are gradually being completed, some bridges have been temporarily put into operation.

One of the large bridges in Nam Dinh, with a total investment of 1,200 billion VND, is gradually being completed, the project to build a bridge across the Dao River (connecting Song Hao Street to Vu Huu Loi Street, Nam Dinh City). This is a level 1 traffic project, with a total length of about 1.6km; of which, the global length is about 0.8km with a cross-section of 20.5m.

According to the approved design plan, the bridge consists of 16 spans, including 13 approach spans and 3 continuous girder spans. The two sides of the bridge have a cable-stayed system of two towers with a height of 31.5m from the bridge deck, each side is arranged with 9 pairs of cable-stayed cables.

Up to now, the bridge over the Dao River has completed more than 90% of the volume and is constructing a number of items such as: railings, sidewalks, service roads under the bridge, painting and decorating, building river embankments, etc.

Located on the new Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - coastal road, the new Lac Quan bridge is currently about 80% complete. Mr. Tran Duc Hung - Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - Coastal Road Project Management Board said that after the closure, many items of the new Lac Quan bridge are gradually being completed. Currently, the construction unit is constructing the railing and the bridgehead road.

Also crossing the Day River, connecting the two provinces of Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh, this bridge has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND. The bridge belongs to the Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong expressway; has a total main route length of about 2km; meets the scale of 4 lanes; design speed of 100km/h.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, after more than 2 months of closing, the Day River overpass connecting Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh provinces has completed over 95% of the volume.

The Dong Cao bridge over the Dao river, connecting Nghia Hung and Y Yen districts of Nam Dinh province, was completed and temporarily put into operation from January 15.

Dong Cao Bridge belongs to the investment project to build a development axis connecting the Nam Dinh province's marine economic zone with the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Expressway (phase 2) with a total length of about 46km. The construction of Dong Cao Bridge has 14 approach girders and 3 cantilever girders. The bridge is 12m wide, nearly 2km long, including the approach road.

Finally, there is the Red River overpass connecting Nam Dinh and Thai Binh provinces, with a total capital of nearly 1,000 billion VND. This bridge has a total length of 1.4 km with 27 spans, including 5 main spans and the main span in the middle of the river, exceeding the aperture of 120m, closing in September 2024.

Belonging to the coastal road, after the Red River overpass comes into operation, it will connect the traffic of Thai Binh - Nam Dinh in particular and the traffic network in the area, the national traffic system. In addition, it will create a breakthrough in socio-economic development, promote tourism development of the marine economic zone of the Red River Delta.
