From noon on February 20 (4th day of Tet), on the top of Dai Ninh pass on National Highway 28B, passing through Phan Son commune (Lam Dong province), a situation of cars queuing in long lines, congestion, and slow movement in both directions occurred.
This time is also the peak time for vehicles to pass through the pass area. While many sections are still under construction for the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 28B, the road surface has not been paved with asphalt, forcing vehicles to reduce speed when moving.
Mr. Nguyen Cong - a resident living on the top of the pass said that the congestion appeared from noon and lasted for many hours, the flow of vehicles moved slowly, following each other through narrow road sections.
Recorded at km46 - the area under construction of elevated bridge No. 4 - there is a damaged road surface, the peeling layer of gravel caused many cars to skid when passing, causing vehicles queuing to move slower.
In particular, low-chassis cars traveling through this location are very difficult.
Many drivers have posted information about the traffic situation on Dai Ninh Pass on social networks to warn and help other vehicles choose alternative routes or be proactive in travel time.
Answering reporters, a representative of Project Management Board 5 (Ministry of Construction) - the unit organizing and managing the project to upgrade and renovate National Highway 28B - said that they have transferred information about the location of the damaged road surface to the construction unit of this section to fix it.
Previously, on February 15, on the km40-km41 section along National Highway 28B, a situation occurred where the construction grade layer peeled off, causing wheel slippage and vehicle congestion.
After receiving feedback, the project management unit requested the contractor to urgently fix and complete the handling on February 16.
The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B through Lam Dong province is about 68km long, with a total investment of 1,435 billion VND. The starting point is the intersection of National Highway 1A (Luong Son commune), the ending point is the intersection of National Highway 20 (Ninh Gia commune).
