On December 21, the People's Committee of My Thuy commune (Quang Tri province) confirmed that after Lao Dong Newspaper published an article reflecting the frequent traffic of many heavy trucks carrying materials for the construction of the My Thuy Seaport project, causing the first section of National Highway 15D through Trung An village (My Thuy commune) to seriously deteriorate, the Department of Construction of Quang Tri province coordinated with the People's Committee of My Thuy commune, the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and the project investor to organize a field inspection of the road.
According to records at the scene, the first section of National Highway 15D, about 800m long, was severely damaged, the road surface was peeling, many potholes and subsidence appeared, causing difficulties and potential safety risks for road users. This area is being directly affected by the large volume of dump trucks, tractors carrying soil, stone, and sand entering and leaving the port construction area.

At the inspection, the units determined that the main cause of the damage was due to vehicles with large loads exceeding the load-bearing capacity of the existing road surface structure.
On that basis, the Department of Construction requested the project investor, My Thuy International Port Joint Venture Joint Stock Company, to urgently implement remedial measures.
Investors must repair damaged locations, reinforce road surfaces, ensure drainage, and prevent mud and stagnant water from causing slippery conditions. At the same time, it is necessary to organize the construction of separate service roads for construction vehicles, limiting the circulation of heavy-duty vehicles on National Highway 15D, in order to protect traffic infrastructure and ensure safety for people.

The Department of Construction also requested relevant units to strengthen inspection and supervision during the construction process; arrange signs, barriers, and traffic control forces at dangerous points.
People in My Thuy commune expressed their hope that the repair will be done soon and thoroughly, avoiding temporary repairs that will cause damage to recur, affecting their lives and daily travel.
