On October 9, 2025, the Hanoi People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Tran Hung Dao Bridge Construction Investment Project.
The project is 4.18 km long, starting at the Tran Hung Dao - Tran Thanh Tong - Le Thanh Tong intersection, in Cua Nam and Hai Ba Trung wards; the end point connects with Nguyen Son street, in Long Bien and Bo De wards.
The main bridge is 870 m long, consisting of 6 spans divided into two connecting bridges, each span is 145 m long, using a steel arch structure with the image of an infinite beyond. The approach bridges on both sides are 1,213 m long, with a precast reinforced concrete box girder structure and a precast reinforced concrete girder.
The entire route has three intersections, including a different-level intersection with Tran Khanh Du - Nguyen Khoi road; intersecting with Ta Hong dyke road - Co Linh road; and intersecting with Nguyen Son road.
The project is invested under the public-private partnership (PPP) method, with a total investment of VND 16,226 billion. In the financial structure, Hanoi pays investors with land funds, worth about VND 8,190 billion. The rest is invested from the city budget.
The consortium of Cong Thanh Traffic Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company - Cat Ba Sun Company Limited, a member of Sun Group, is the investor in the construction of Tran Hung Dao Bridge.

Regarding site clearance (GPMB), the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the total recovered land area is about 35.15 hectares, including about 1.95 hectares of residential land (640 households), 1.6 hectares of national defense land; water surface land, public land, agricultural land... about 31.6 hectares.
To date, the investor has received 2.7/35.15 hectares of land, reaching 8% (Bo De ward has handed over the sidewalk area, traffic road, along the Co Linh - Hong Tien route, 700m long). It is expected to complete all site clearance work in June 2026.
The Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board requests the People's Committees of wards to speed up the site clearance progress to hand over to investors and construction enterprises, ensuring the completion of the project by 2027.
When completed, Tran Hung Dao Bridge will play an important role, promoting the urbanization of the area, creating a premise for implementing the policy of population dispersion and reducing traffic pressure in the central urban area, connecting main roads along both banks of the Red River, developing modern urban space...

Chairman of Hong Ha Ward People's Committee Le Hong Thang said that Hanoi City has arranged more than 200 hectares of land in Thu Lam commune for people affected by the construction of Tu Lien Bridge, Ngoc Hoi Bridge and Tran Hung Dao Bridge. Specifically, 7 plots of land have basically completed site clearance, some locations have completed infrastructure, ready to hand over to projects.
The Ward People's Committee will issue a notice of land recovery and develop a specific investigation schedule for each household, expected to be completed within 20 days with more than 300 organizations and households.
The Chairman of Hong Ha Ward People's Committee added that the Tran Hung Dao Bridge Construction Investment Project is a key project of the city. In order for the project to be implemented on schedule and effectively, the Ward People's Committee hopes to receive consensus and support from households and the synchronous participation of the entire political system from the ward to the grassroots.
With the highest sense of responsibility, Hong Ha ward will fully and promptly apply and implement regimes and policies, ensuring the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people to the best extent as prescribed.
