Lam Dong - Before the Lunar New Year, more than 25 billion VND from disaster relief support has been paid to more than 4,400 households in the flood-stricken area in Ham Thang ward.

On February 3, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan Anh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ham Thang ward (Lam Dong province) said that the locality has organized the payment of support money to households affected by the serious rain and flood that occurred in early December 2025.

According to the list of allocated funds to support damage caused by natural disasters and floods (phase 2) of the province, Ham Thang ward is the locality that receives the most support.

This is considered the flood center in the major flood on December 4, 2025, causing heavy damage to people's property and livelihoods, with a total estimated value of about 200 billion VND.

Regarding the level of support, households that have to be relocated due to flooding and landslides are supported with 5 million VND/household. Households facing difficulties due to the impact of natural disasters are also supported with food and living expenses at a level of 500,000 VND/household.

Students from households that have to be relocated due to rain and floods are supported with 500,000 VND/student. Thereby, contributing to sharing difficulties and helping them soon stabilize their studies after the natural disaster.

In Ham Thang ward, there are 4,478 households and 975 students benefiting from support according to the above 3 levels with a total payment cost of more than 25.2 billion VND.

Payment is organized at many points, the process of receiving, comparing information and issuing money is carried out scientifically and transparently, creating convenience for people to receive support.

Many households said that the timely support before Tet has partly helped their families cover living expenses, repair houses, reinvest in production, thereby feeling more secure when Tet comes and spring returns.

The second phase of support payment continues to demonstrate the role of the Fatherland Front system in mobilizing and allocating relief resources, contributing to helping flood victims gradually overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

Previously, immediately after the flood occurred, Ham Thang ward mobilized all grassroots forces to urgently statistically assess damage and make a list of affected households according to the criteria issued by the province.

After receiving funding from the Provincial Relief Fund, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward quickly deployed payments, ensuring publicity, correct recipients and timeliness.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan Anh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ham Thang ward, during the payment process, some households reflected that they have not received support in this phase. Currently, the locality is continuing to review to summarize and propose support in the next phase.

Along with the province's support, Ham Thang ward is currently actively mobilizing organizations and individuals to join hands in contributing and caring for people in flood-affected areas, helping people have more conditions to celebrate the Lunar New Year in a warm and sharing atmosphere.
