More than 2,700 entries, reflecting a variety of financial sectors
On the afternoon of July 21, 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance (Hanoi), the "9th National Press Award for the Finance Industry" Award Ceremony took place solemnly, with the participation and award ceremony of Party Central Committee member and Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang. Also attending were representatives of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, central and local press agencies.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi - Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest affirmed: "This year's works have covered all economic and financial fields, clarifying historical milestones, while clearly demonstrating the role of the Finance sector in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland".
The 9th contest has many innovations when expanding 4 types of press including print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio and television. The Organizing Committee received more than 2,700 works from hundreds of press agencies and authors across the country, reflecting on diverse issues of finance - budget, administrative reform, digital transformation, price management, tax fraud prevention, public asset management, etc.
Through two preliminary and final rounds, the Jury selected 53 outstanding works to award prizes, including 1 Special Prize, 4 A prizes, 20 B prizes, and 28 C prizes.
The Special Prize was awarded to the group of authors Cao Thi Thanh Tra - Vu Van Nhat (Newspaper Board, Vietnam Television) with a series of reports: "The Insurance industry strives to support and compensate customers affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi)".
Lao Dong Newspaper won the C prize for the work "How is donation money used" by author Pham Thi Minh Anh - Deputy Head of the Economic Department.
In addition, 9 press agencies with outstanding contributions to the contest and propaganda work about the Finance sector were also awarded Certificates of Merit by the Minister of Finance.
Spreading the spirit of innovation and social responsibility
According to the Award Council's assessment, the entries not only promptly and deeply reflect the policies and activities of the Finance sector, but also contribute many constructive perspectives and practical recommendations to perfect institutions, promote transparency and efficiency in public financial management.
The contest also contributes to affirming the image of the dynamic and innovative Finance sector, accompanying the country's socio-economic development process. Through that, the cooperative relationship between financial institutions and the press is increasingly close and effective.
Speaking at the end of the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi launched the "10th National Press Award on the Finance Industry in 2027", towards the 82nd anniversary of the Industry's Traditional Day. The Organizing Committee hopes to continue to receive the response of journalists and reporters inside and outside the industry to further spread the role of national finance in the new era of development.
