According to the inspection conclusion notices issued at the end of April and early May 2026, although profitable business results and growth in capital mobilization were recorded, all three branches above of KienlongBank revealed worrying issues in the professional process.
Specifically, at Dong Thap branch, the inspection agency pointed out shortcomings and limitations in terms of loan conditions, appraisal and loan approval. This unit was also pointed out for shortcomings in guarantee documents and lending outside the area. Similarly, at Tay Ninh branch, lending and post-lending inspection activities also generated many risks due to the lack of serious compliance with internal regulations.
More seriously, at Tien Giang branch, the SBV Inspectorate confirmed that existing problems and violations have arisen in debt appraisal and handling. Notably, there is a situation where customers use capital for wrong purposes due to the bank's subjectivity in the initial approval stage.
The inspection agency assessed that these shortcomings are mostly subjective from the officials and executives of the branch. To rectify, the Chief Inspector of SBV Region 13 issued a total of 15 recommendations and 12 recommendations, requesting units to immediately take measures to overcome and review the entire process to ensure system safety and compliance with the law.
