VietBank increases interest rates
According to Lao Dong, on October 23, Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VietBank) issued a new interest rate schedule, recording an increase in the counter deposit section.
VietBank's counter deposit interest rates are currently listed as follows:
The 1-month Interest Rate increased by 0.3 percentage points to 3.8%/year.
The 3-month Interest Rate increased by 0.1 percentage point to 3.8%/year.
Interest Rate for 6-month term increased by 0.2 percentage points, to 5.0%/year.
Interest Rate for 9-month term is at 4.9%/year.
Interest Rate for 12-month term is 5.5%/year.
Interest Rate for 18-36 month term is 5.8%/year.
In addition, the online deposit interest rate table at VietBank has not recorded any adjustment and is currently listed as follows:
Interest Rate for 1 month term is 3.8%/year.
Interest Rate for 3-month term is 4.0%/year.
Interest Rate for 6-month term is 5.2%/year.
Interest Rate for 9-month term is 5.0%/year.
Interest Rate for 12-month term is 5.6%/year.
Interest Rate for 18-36 month term is 5.9%/year.
After more than half of October, the interest rate level recorded 6 banks increasing interest rates.
Banks that increased interest rates in October include Bac A Bank, Eximbank, LPBank, MSB and VietBank. Notably, a large bank in the Big 4 group, Agribank, also recorded an interest rate increase in October.
