FIFA has just issued document No. FD-19714 to Hoang Anh Gia Lai club and forwarded to Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) regarding the application of the penalty of banning player registration against Hoang Anh Gia Lai, due to the responsibility of implementing the decision on the dispute between Hoang Anh Gia Lai club and player Martin Dzilah.
The penalty of banning new player registration, both domestically and internationally, will be applied to Hoang Anh Gia Lai from the time FIFA issues the above document.
At FIFA's request, VFF, as a FIFA member federation, will apply a penalty of banning new player registration within the country.
The penalty will be lifted by FIFA when Hoang Anh Gia Lai completes its financial obligations according to FIFA's decision.
Previously, FIFA announced that Hoang Anh Gia Lai must pay $29,000 in compensation to Martin Dzilah after the player won a lawsuit in a contract dispute with the mountain town team.
Martin Dzilah joined Hoang Anh Gia Lai in October 2023, playing a total of 3 matches with 225 minutes on the field. However, due to not meeting professional requirements and suffering from a prolonged injury, Hoang Anh Gia Lai decided to terminate the contract with him.
On March 21, Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Dzilah reached a compensation agreement of 20,000 USD, with Dzilah receiving the money and signing a confirmation. However, Dzilah later disagreed with this compensation and filed a lawsuit with FIFA.
On June 28, FIFA requested the parties to provide supporting documents on the organization's legal system before the deadline of July 18 to handle the dispute.
On August 30, FIFA ruled in favor of Dzilah, requiring Hoang Anh Gia Lai to pay 29,000 USD plus interest for the late response. The team must pay within 45 days or face a transfer ban.
