Xuan Canh, Xuan Loc! We are here
In mid-November, extreme weather caused prolonged heavy rain, causing many Central Highlands provinces, especially Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak and Lam Dong, to be submerged in severe flooding. Promoting the tradition of "Mutual love", the Party Committee - Committee of Leadership - Trade Union - Youth Union - BSR Veterans Association has called on employees to join hands to support people in disaster areas. Good clothes are washed and classified; necessities are carefully prepared; along with the donation sent to the Union - all ready to go to the people.

On the morning of November 25, 2025, when it was still foggy, the BSR convoy started departing. The journey of more than 200 km seems to have been extended when in front is the land struggling after natural disasters. In Xuan Canh commune (Dak Lak), people were silent in the face of the shrimp pond being swept away, the roofs were temporarily covered with wind gusts, and the electric poles were broken, and the authorities urgently repaired it. People stand along both sides of the road, their eyes watching and sending hope.
Mr. Nguyen Thai Nguyen - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Xuan Canh Commune Party Committee, choked up to the point of wanting to cry when he said: all 11/11 villages of the commune were partially flooded, 88 households were flooded with water over 2 m deep; the inter-village, inter-commune and National Highway 1 roads were eroded, with total damage of about 5 billion VND. In particular, coastal areas with traditional shrimp farming were completely swept away, 100% of shrimp and fish rafts were damaged, causing damage of more than 700 billion VND.
In the waiting eyes of the people, the image of Ms. Tran Thi Luong (61 years old) made us feel heartbroken. Her house had its roof blown off by storm No. 13, repaired for 5 million and still owed materials. The back of the house was still deeply flooded. The couple worked without money; their daughter also had to work in Ho Chi Minh City as a sub-sponsor. Ms. Luong has breast cancer, had to have a cut on one side, and is in poor health.
The BSR working group immediately deployed to give each gift to the people: rice, instant noodles, milk, bread, sausages, drinking water, blankets, scarves... The gifts are small but contain sharing, bringing warmth to people in the most difficult times.
The convoy continued through noon to reach Xuan Loc commune. Each member could only quickly eat the bread and drink a glass of water because "the girl is waiting, she cannot stop".
In an area that was still deeply flooded, Mr. Pham Ngoc Lang (72 years old) stood in water to receive the group in the footrest. He said that in just one rainy night, the water rose more than 1 m, sweeping away all of his assets such as refrigerators and TVs. His daughter had just given birth, but the road was flooded so she could not take the mother and baby to the hospital, the whole family could only put a bed waiting for the water to recede.

The BSR team wade into each house. Floods swept away every walkway, and the inter-village concrete road which was the main road was also submerged. Members had to stick to walls and fences to move. But the waiting eyes, the thin hands giving each gift make all the fatigue disappear.
Fed up with the journey of BSR to flooded areas
The relief convoy continued to Cu Chinh Lan Primary and Secondary School (Xuan Canh commune), which suffered heavy damage after storm No. 13 and the historic flood: nearly 300 m of gates and fences collapsed, more than 320 m2 of corrugated iron roofs damaged, many teaching equipment were swept away or severely damaged. BSR supported 100 million VND and many items to contribute to stabilizing teaching and learning soon.

At Bui Thi Xuan Secondary School, the desolation is clear: ancient trees are uprooted, the roof of classrooms is blown off, the schoolyard is still flooded; vehicles carrying relief goods also sank when approaching. Students have to temporarily take a day off to ensure safety. BSR supported 100 million VND and essential learning materials to help the school overcome the difficult period.
At the flooded school yard, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors of BSR Khuong Le Thanh emotionally said: "The people of the Central region have to struggle to suffer from storm No. 13 and major floods. Coming here, we understand the difficulties that teachers and students are going through, and hope that this small support will add confidence so that everyone can soon stabilize their lives".
BSR's support activities are part of a donation program launched by Petrovietnam to call on all officers and employees to join hands to support people in flooded areas.
During this flood, Petrovietnam has donated a total of 18 billion VND to the Central provinces (Quang Tri: 3 billion VND, Hue: 5 billion VND, Da Nang: 5 billion VND, Quang Ngai: 5 billion VND). For the damage caused by storm No. 13 and floods in the Central Highlands - South Central region, Petrovietnam continues to support: Gia Lai 10 billion VND, Dak Lak 5 billion VND, Khanh Hoa 5 billion VND, Lam Dong 5 billion VND.

In addition to volunteer activities, Petrovietnam leaders emphasized that the most sustainable contribution is BSR's maintenance of production and business efficiency. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam Le Manh Hung directed at the meeting on November 23 at Dung Quat Oil Refinery: "C continue to promote production and business, strive to achieve and exceed 2025 targets to contribute to compensation for damage caused by floods".
On November 25, another branch of the BSR delegation presented money and necessities to Vo Thi Sau High School (Tuy An Dong commune, Dak Lak). Le Hong Phong High School, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, Tran Suyen High School also received support. BSR Communications Department has called for and supported 150 pairs of handbags for students in schools flooded by floods.
