After the merger, Ca Mau has a total of 59 wind power projects (DAs), of which 16 DAs have been put into commercial operation, with a total capacity of 870.2MW; 1 DA is under construction; 7 DA have been approved for investment policy and are undergoing investment procedures with a total capacity of 369MW; 22 DA are approved for additional increase in the period of 2025 - 2035, with a total capacity of 2,026MW. Along with that is 2,827 rooftop solar power systems with a total capacity of 236.4 MW, contributing to the rapid development of the renewable energy production sector.
The draft political report submitted to the first Party Congress of Ca Mau province assessed: wind power projects have promoted efficiency, contributing significantly to economic growth, ensuring energy security, adapting to climate change, and protecting the environment.
In the coming time, Ca Mau will attract investment in non-grid renewable energy projects (wind power, solar power, etc.), aiming to export electricity to neighboring countries; developing the hydrogen (H2) gas production industry, amoniac (NH3)...
Prepare conditions for implementing electricity export projects. Direct the early implementation of the Bac Lieu LNG Power Plant project; handle problems, quickly implement wind power projects according to the planning for the period 2026 - 2030; attract investment, develop new energy (Green Hydropower, Green Am Stock), associated with the construction of synchronous technical infrastructure.
In reality, wind power projects not only have economic and energy significance but also become unique and attractive highlights, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit and admire.

In particular, Bac Lieu Wind Power Plant is one of the largest and most beautiful wind power fields in Vietnam, with nearly 100 tower turbines, rising from the vast land of thousands of mangrove forests running to the vast East Sea and the sea, creating a scene that is both majestic and poetic and beautiful.

According to the approved plan, in addition to wind power development, Ca Mau province also focuses on investing in developing other power sources such as thermal power, solar power, thermal power, waste-to-energy, LNG... Including DA expanding Ca Mau 1 and 2 Thermal Power Plants, capacity of 1,500MW; DA exporting electricity from Ca Mau province with capacity of 2,000 - 5,000MW; DA Ngoc Hien Solar Power Plant, capacity of 50MW; Khanh An Biomass Power Plant, capacity of 4MW; Nam Can Waste-to-energy Plant, capacity of 6MW and Sun Power Plant combined with An Phuc Dong Hai battery storage system, capacity of 50MW; Bac Lieu LNG Gas Power Plant, capacity of 10,000MW (exported wind power).
Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen said that during a working session with the Minister of Industry and Trade on October 8, the Minister supported Ca Mau in exporting electricity. The Minister also suggested that Ca Mau's development of energy and energy industry is the key for the province to make a breakthrough in the short term, aiming to become a green energy and logistics center of the region.
