On the occasion of the one-year anniversary of the province's merger, Ca Mau continuously launched 3 wind power projects with a total investment of more than 11,600 billion VND, a total capacity of 250 MW, expanding the space for clean energy development and attracting investment into the locality.
On July 1st, in Dat Mui commune, BCG Khai Long 1 Wind Power Joint Stock Company held the groundbreaking ceremony of the Khai Long - Ca Mau Tourist Area Wind Power Plant Project phase 1. This is a project to celebrate one year of the merger of Ca Mau province.

The project has a total investment of more than 6,320 billion VND, a capacity of 100 MW, built on an area of about 480 hectares, including 16 wind turbines, a 35/110 kV substation and a 110 kV power line connected to the Nam Can 220 kV substation. According to the plan, the plant will be put into operation from May 2028.
When completed, the project is expected to supply about 253 GWh of electricity per year to the national grid, meeting the electricity demand of about 105,000 households and contributing about 50 billion VND per year to the local budget.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen said that Dat Mui commune is an area with many difficulties, with few large-scale projects being implemented. Therefore, the project not only contributes to supplementing clean electricity but also creates jobs, promotes infrastructure development and improves people's lives.

Previously, on June 30, Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee coordinated with investors to launch the Dong Hai 13 Wind Power Plant Project in Long Dien commune, with a capacity of 100 MW, total investment of nearly 3,620 billion VND and the Dong Hai 3 Wind Power Plant Project phase 1 in Ganh Hao commune, with a capacity of 50 MW, total investment of more than 1,750 billion VND.
The fact that 3 wind power projects are being launched consecutively with a total capacity of 250 MW and a total investment of more than 11,600 billion VND is expected to create more motivation for Ca Mau to realize its dream of becoming a clean energy center of the Mekong Delta region.
