On October 15, in Lam Dong province, the Intellectual Property Office - Ministry of Science and Technology held a conference to announce the certificate of "Lam Dong" geographical indication for two lines of Arabica and Robusta coffee, including green coffee beans, roasted coffee beans and pound coffee.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Huy Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Intellectual Property - emphasized: " being protected by geographical indications not only helps to enhance the reputation and competitiveness of Lam Dong coffee but also opens up opportunities to build a sustainable value chain, contributing to affirming the position of the Vietnamese coffee industry in the international market."
The granting of the certificate of "Lam Dong" geographical indication is an important milestone, affirming the quality, reputation and unique identity of local coffee. At the same time, it opens up opportunities for brand development, enhancing added value and promoting sustainable production - processing - consumption chains.

In the agricultural structure of Lam Dong province, coffee is the main crop, with an area of over 327,000 hectares (accounting for 45.02% of the country's coffee area. The output in 2025 is estimated to reach over 1 million tons (accounting for 50.49% of the total coffee output of the country).
The whole province currently has 6 high-tech agricultural coffee growing regions, with a total area of over 2,268 hectares.
To date, Lam Dong has more than 100 collective trademarks, certificates and geographical indications protected. This shows solid progress in developing intellectual property and local coffee brands.
