Enterprises join hands to cooperate
Within the framework of the 9th Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025, EDE Farm Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (MISS EDE) and Dak Lak 2-9 Import-Export Company Limited (Simexco Daklak) signed a long-term cooperation agreement on the export coffee supply chain with EUDR certification.
Mr. Hoang Danh Huu, founder of MISS EDE, said that EUDR will soon become a mandatory requirement when bringing coffee to the EU market, making it urgent to ensure a standard source of raw materials.
Since its establishment, MISS EDE has cooperated with Simexco Daklak - Vietnam's leading coffee exporting enterprise and the first unit in Dak Lak to have EUDR-compliant growing areas.
This cooperation has been successful with an export order for 1 container (18,000 packages of MISS EDE roasted ground coffee) to the United States in December 2024. At the end of March and the beginning of April 2025, MISS EDE continued to export 2 more containers with 24,000 packages of ground roasted coffee and 18,000 packages of roasted coffee beans.
Mr. Huu emphasized that, in the face of increasingly strict requirements from importers, businesses must cooperate to elevate Vietnamese coffee and develop sustainably.
Simexco Daklak representative said that the unit has built EUDR standard raw material areas for many years and meets the standards for other international markets.

Central ministries and branches accompany and support
Director of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) Vu Ba Phu commented that the EUDR regulation is both an opportunity and a challenge for Vietnamese coffee, while affirming its ability to meet the requirements of green, fast and sustainable development.
Deputy Director of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) Nguyen Quoc Manh assessed EUDR as a humane regulation, requiring products entering the EU to prove that they do not originate from the forest, contributing to environmental protection and promoting sustainable production.
The Ministry has issued two temporary guidelines for the coffee, rubber and wood industries, and at the same time built a coffee growing area data system.
In the near future, data exploitation rights will be granted to relevant units, creating conditions to maintain exports to the EU and develop a sustainable commodity industry.
The EUDR applies to seven groups of imported goods to the EU, including coffee an important export commodity.
Initially, EUDR was expected to be applied from December 2024 to large enterprises and from June 2025 to small and medium enterprises. However, the deadline has been extended by another year.
