On the evening of March 10, at 10.3 Square (Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak), the opening event of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 took place.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Huynh Thi Chien Hoa, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Council said: "Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival is an outstanding economic and cultural event of the province. This is a festival to honor those who grow, produce, process, trade, and import and export coffee".

According to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, through the festival, the province hopes to introduce to domestic and international friends the patriotic tradition and unique cultural identity of the locality.
Dak Lak wishes to promote the potential for tourism development, promote trade, investment, import-export, and services; promote the value, quality, and brand of agricultural products.
Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha commented: "The Coffee Festival is not only an event to honor Vietnamese coffee beans, but also a forum of global stature. This is where coffee producing and consuming countries converge, sharing a vision for a sustainable future for the coffee industry".
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, coffee is one of the main agricultural products of Vietnam. This is the livelihood of millions of farmers, a pillar of national agricultural exports. Vietnam is one of the world's leading coffee exporters.
With available potential and advantages, Dak Lak can completely become one of the largest coffee centers in the region and the world.
To enhance the quality, brand and value of Vietnamese coffee, the Deputy Prime Minister also suggested a number of key tasks and solutions in the coming time.
In particular, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, together with localities, businesses, and associations, continues to review planning and build high-quality, low-emission coffee growing areas.
Enterprises developing coffee products with special, characteristic flavors are certified according to international standards. Refined coffee products such as instant coffee and tablets need to meet modern consumption trends.
"The Ministries of Industry and Trade, Foreign Affairs, aviation and tourism need to focus on promoting the expansion of domestic and international markets; expanding direct distribution channels in potential markets, developing e-commerce, diversifying consumption channels...", the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Dak Lak is the "Coffee Capital of Vietnam", contributing about 18% of export turnover. The brand and geographical indication "Buon Ma Thuot Coffee" is present in more than 80 countries and territories around the world.
