Binh Duong province is urgently preparing construction materials to construct the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 through the province. The about 9km long section (from Binh Chuan intersection to Saigon River, in Thuan An city) needs a lot of sand and soil to fill and fill the roadbed.
According to the Binh Duong Province Traffic Construction Investment Management Board, the total demand for sand for the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project through Binh Duong province is 700,000m3.
The supply capacity from mines in operation until early June 2025 and the total volume brought to the construction site is 310,000m3 of domestic commercial sand and Cambodian sand.
Currently, the province needs an additional 390,000m3, which will continue to be taken from allocated sand mines such as: Binh Hoa Phuoc 2 mine, Chanh An mine, Vinh Long province; Vam Cai Thia mine, Tien Giang province and sand from Cambodia.
Regarding roadbed fill, the total demand of the project is 816,000m3. Of which, 154,000m3 of land has been brought to the project. In addition, 208,000 m3 has signed a contract to provide from mines under exploitation, surplus land from construction works in Binh Duong.
Currently, an additional 454,000m3 is needed to continue taking place at the proposed location for granting a license for a group IV mineral mine of Truong Son Construction Corporation (in Tan Dinh commune, Bac Tan Uyen). After Thuong Tan VII quarry and Tam Lap 2 quarry in zone B are eligible for operation, they will continue to source fill in these 2 quarries.
Regarding construction stone, the Binh Duong Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Management Board said that construction stone materials are basically suitable.
Currently, the Binh Duong Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Management Board and departments and branches have compiled the needs and recommended that the Provincial People's Committee direct the exploitation of construction stone to each contractor and each mine.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project has a total length of more than 76km, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Long An, with a total investment of nearly VND 75,400 billion.
The section through Binh Duong is more than 26 km long. Binh Duong province has started construction of 11 km. The 15 km section coinciding with My Phuoc Tan Van road is being calculated for a complete investment plan and synchronized with Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. Binh Duong province strives for all construction packages to be completed and put into operation in 2026.
