According to Can Tho City People's Committee, in 2025, the city organized many conferences to connect supply and demand, international trade; support businesses to participate in fairs, promote cross-border e-commerce; and work with international distribution partners and corporations to expand export markets to China, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Germany, Australia. Can Tho proactively assesses the impact of countervailing tax policies from the US market, guides businesses to respond and proposes competent authorities to remove difficulties.
Export activities maintained positive growth momentum with key export items such as seafood, rice, agricultural products, textiles, etc. Thanks to that, export turnover, services and foreign currency revenue in 2025 are estimated at 5,508 million USD (of which the value of goods exports is estimated at 4,221 million USD, an increase of 9.6% compared to the same period; foreign currency service revenue is estimated at 1,287 million USD, an increase of 14.8% compared to the same period) reaching the annual plan and an increase of 10.8% compared to 2024.
Import turnover is estimated at 1,313 million USD, an increase of 17.1% compared to the previous year; imported goods mainly serve processing, export production and processing activities.
Trade and service activities in the area continue to grow stably. Businesses promote consumer stimulus programs at traditional markets, supermarkets, shopping centers and convenience store chains, fully meeting the shopping needs of people. Market prices are well controlled, and no speculation, hoarding or unreasonable price increases occur.
Total retail sales of goods and service revenue in 2025 reached VND 360,072 billion, achieving the annual plan and increasing by 20.02% compared to 2024, contributing to promoting economic growth and stabilizing the domestic market.
