On January 6, information from Can Tho City Power Company, on January 5, with the support of the Southern Power System Regulatory Center (SSO), Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) directed its affiliated units to successfully energize the 110kV Tran De Power line - 220kV Soc Trang Substation project in Can Tho City.
This is the result of continuous efforts in the past 10 peak days, especially during the 2026 New Year holiday, when the entire project did not have holidays, hundreds of engineers and workers worked day and night to ensure the set schedule, completing it on time to welcome the new year Binh Ngo 2026.

The project is invested by EVNSPC, with an initial total investment of more than 127 billion VND. The scale includes building a new 110kV single-circuit line over 32km long; expanding sections 112 and 172 at Tran De 110kV Substation; installing a synchronous protection, control, and measurement system.
The project started on December 28, 2024, the power line passes through Soc Trang City and My Xuyen, Tran De districts (old Soc Trang province), starting point at Soc Trang 220kV Substation and ending point at Tran De 110kV Substation. Previously, on April 19, 2025, the project was completed and phase 1 of the roadway barrier item at Tran De 110kV Substation was energized.

When put into operation, the project forms a 110kV interconnection circuit between Tran De, Dai Ngai, Cu Lao Dung substations from the 220kV Soc Trang substation, contributing to ensuring safe operation and improving the reliability of power supply to the area. At the same time, the project helps increase flexibility in managing and operating 110kV substations, ready to transmit the capacity of renewable energy sources in the future, gradually realizing the goal of developing a smart grid.

EVNSPC has mobilized forces from the Investment Management Board and shock forces of Can Tho City, Dong Thap, An Giang Power Companies - officials and workers who participated in the construction of the Quang Trach - Pho Noi 500kV circuit line project in 2023, rich in experience, high discipline, ready to undertake a large volume of work in the final stage.
Throughout the peak construction process, EVNSPC leaders were regularly present at the construction site to inspect, direct and encourage the construction force. Chairman of EVNSPC Member Council Le Van Trang, Deputy General Director of EVNSPC Bui Quoc Hoan and the Board of Directors of Can Tho City Power Company directly visited and encouraged more than 80 workers and nearly 100 officers and employees of the shock force working throughout the route.

In addition, the Trade Union of Southern Power Corporation was present at the scene, chairing the signing ceremony of the emulation - commendation commitment, launching the peak sprint with the determination to complete the project on schedule, ensuring quality and absolute safety. This is not only a form of signing but also a commitment of responsibility, showing the practical companionship between the Trade Union organization and professional forces.
By nearly 8 pm on January 5, 2026, the project was officially energized successfully, completed according to plan. This milestone affirms the spirit of drastic direction, flexible organization, and disciplined construction of EVNSPC, and is also a clear proof of the solidarity and effective coordination between units inside and outside the electricity industry.
