At the end of the last trading session of the week, world oil prices simultaneously decreased. In which, WTI oil price was at 90.54 USD/barrel, down 2.50 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 2.69%. Brent oil was at 93.09 USD/barrel, down 1.94 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 2.04%.
Oil prices fell more than 2% thanks to expectations of cooling down the conflict between the US and Iran. According to Phil Flynn, Senior Analyst at Price Futures Group, the market currently does not see a risk of escalating tensions between the parties. Although there is still no official agreement, the market seems to be assessing the situation in a cooling down direction.
The world gasoline and oil market in the past week's operating period was affected by key factors such as: the developments of the negotiation to end the conflict between the US and Iran; the US and Iran continued to attack each other while negotiating; the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continued... The above factors caused the world finished gasoline and oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on each item.
The average world finished petroleum product price between the price adjustment period on May 28, 2026 and the price adjustment period on June 4, 2026 is: 116.768 USD/barrel of RON92 gasoline used to blend E5RON92 gasoline (down 9.450 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 7.49%); 141.890 USD/barrel of diesel oil 0.05S (down 4.808 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 3.28%); 640.023 USD/ton of mazut oil 180CST 3.5S (down 15.185 USD/ton, equivalent to a decrease of 2.32%).
Selling prices of popular consumer gasoline and oil items on the market on June 6 are as follows:
- E5 RON92 gasoline: not higher than 21,784 VND/liter (down 1,474 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price);
- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 26,866 VND/liter (down 785 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price);
- 180CST 3.5S mazut oil: not higher than 19,645 VND/kg (down 797 VND/kg compared to the current maximum selling price).

Regarding gasoline prices: Thailand: 34,664 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 31,731 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Laos: 37,121 VND/liter; China: 35,667 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 21,784 VND/liter.
Regarding oil prices: Thailand: 33, 223 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 31, 731 VND/liter; Laos: 34, 005 VND/liter; China: 32, 573 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 26, 866 VND/liter.
Vietnam's gasoline and oil prices are currently lower than those of countries sharing a common border.
