On October 14, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province had a working session with Luxshare-ICT Vietnam Co., Ltd. and FUYU Precision Technology Co., Ltd., under Foxconn Group (Van Trung Industrial Park) on the production situation during and after storms and floods.
At Luxshare - ICT Vietnam Co., Ltd., the company's leadership representative said that since 2016, the company has had 4 factories in Bac Ninh specializing in the production and processing of electronic components, communication equipment, etc., creating stable jobs for about 30,000 workers.
During the recent storms and floods, the Company still maintained normal production activities, but there were occasional power outages and slow drainage roads, leading to difficulties for workers to go to work and work overtime.
The company recommends that the province soon have solutions to upgrade the overall water supply and drainage system of the industrial park; ensure a stable power source; handle waste, ensure landscape, security and order in the industrial park, especially handle vehicles that illegally stop and park causing traffic congestion.
At FUYU Precision Technology Co., Ltd., Mr. Choui I Wen, General Director of Foxconn Vietnam, said that after more than 18 years of investment in Bac Ninh province, the enterprise has always received the attention and support of provincial leaders, departments and branches, helping the Group continuously expand production and business.
Currently, Foxconn Vietnam has 20 investment projects in the province with a total investment capital of 3.84 billion USD, creating jobs for about 126,000 workers, with expected revenue in 2025 increasing by about 50% compared to 2024.
Despite the impact of storms No. 10 and 11, with rainfall causing internal water drainage slowly, affecting workers' travel and freight transportation activities. However, the Company still maintains normal production activities.
In response to the proposals and recommendations of enterprises, representatives of the province's functional agencies answered and clarified a number of issues.
Regarding the problem of slow drainage in industrial parks, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province assigned the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review and calculate the overall drainage flow of industrial parks, including Quang Chau and Van Trung Industrial Parks, with heavy rainfall, with plans to dredge and upgrade drainage canals and irrigation pumping stations, connecting to the drainage system of the agricultural sector.
Each business also needs to survey and plan to build reservoirs and tanks that are both located in the premises, landscape, and trees, and have the effect of storing buffer water when there is heavy rain.
Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Management Board of Industrial Parks, Infrastructure Investors, departments, branches and localities to determine land funds in industrial parks and neighboring areas to plan and build social housing and workers' housing in conjunction with ensuring cultural institutions in the direction of prioritizing administrative procedures, creating favorable conditions for workers to work with peace of mind, produce, and stick with enterprises.
Regarding traffic congestion in industrial parks, in the long term, the province is focusing on expanding service routes and connecting roads.
In the immediate future, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan assigned the Provincial Police and Nenh Ward to continue mobilizing traffic diversion forces during rush hour; put into operation the camera system to manage traffic safety and urban order in industrial parks.
