According to Directive No. 04/CT-UBND recently issued by the People's Committee of Can Tho City, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Directors of Departments, Heads of agencies, departments, and branches of the city, Chairmen of Commune and Ward People's Committees to increase mobilization of forces and functional units to promote the fight, proactively prevent unquality and unknown foods, resolutely prevent and combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, violations of intellectual property and food safety, contributing to restoring order in management and protecting the legitimate rights of people and businesses.
At the same time, urgently and proactively implement synchronously, drastically and effectively the assigned tasks and solutions, organize implementation in the spirit of innovating the state administrative apparatus, in line with the model of local government at two levels.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade to organize peak inspections and maintain regular inspections, ensuring clear responsibility and compliance with the management decentralization between the two levels; focus on large-scale inspections of items with high consumption, high risk of counterfeiting such as vegetable oils, processed milk and foods under the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Food business activities on digital platforms need to be strengthened through monitoring, detecting and handling the sale of counterfeit, unknown food through e-commerce platforms and social networks; handling unregistered warehouses and transactions without valid documents.
The Department of Industry and Trade is also required to organize propaganda for people, traders, and businesses about how to identify counterfeit goods, poor quality food, and consumer rights when detecting violations; warn about typical cases that have been detected in the locality. Coordinate with the city's departments, branches, sectors and the People's Committees of communes and wards to pilot the model "Safe residential areas - No counterfeit goods, no dirty food".
In order to promptly assess, adjust, and improve work efficiency, periodically monthly, quarterly, 06 months, and yearly (before January 15, or suddenly upon request, the city's departments, branches, and sectors, People's Committees of communes and wards report the results of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the area to the Department of Industry and Trade for synthesis and reporting to the Chairman of the City People's Committee.
