Resolution 68 is a historic turning point for the private economy
On the morning of May 29, the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi held a Workshop to announce policy consultancy with the theme "Digital transformation in private enterprises - Towards double-digit growth in Vietnam".
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Chairman of the School Council, University of Economics - National University of Hanoi affirmed that Resolution 68 of the Politburo was born as a historic turning point, blowing new vitality into the private sector. For the first time, the private economy was established as "the most important driving force of the national economy".

However, Mr. Le also acknowledged that private enterprises, to develop and become the most important driving force of the Vietnamese economy, need to have breakthrough development steps, inseparable from science and technology and digital transformation.
"Digital transformation is not only a tool, but a development strategy for private enterprises; and double-digit growth is not a dream, but a feasible goal if accompanied by knowledge, policies and technology" - Mr. Le said.
Private enterprises face many pressures in digital transformation
Assessing the digital transformation of Vietnamese enterprises, many experts said that enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, still lack a clear and appropriate digital transformation strategy.
Units, although clearly recognizing digital transformation as urgent, still have many barriers in the current process.
Difficulties and problems arise from limitations in financial capacity, technology and high-quality human resources; shortage of data platforms, shared systems and digital connectivity infrastructure; legal corridors and policies to support digital transformation are still dispersed, lacking connectivity and effectiveness,...
To remove the above "bottlenecks", according to Dr. Hoang Xuan Vinh - Lecturer at the Institute of Business Administration, University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the role of a State management agency is needed.

"Enterprises are in great need now. The State also needs to have a digital technology platform to support development. Along with that, build, develop, manage data warehouses and process data" - Mr. Vinh shared.
From the perspective of businesses, Mr. Nguyen Kim Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises affirmed that digital transformation is not a story to discuss but a vital key for businesses. However, digital transformation in businesses needs to combine more science and technology.
Many businesses are only completely applying how to sell more goods on online platforms. As for digital transformation in operational governance, it is only about buying available digital platforms to put into businesses. To make progress to make the impact we want is still a matter of time" - Mr. Hung expressed.
