Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dak Nong Province Ngo Thanh Danh has requested the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee to direct the Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments and branches to continue implementing related issues in granting investment policies for bauxite projects as soon as possible.
The projects must comply with legal regulations and be consistent with local actual conditions.
According to Decision No. 866 of the Prime Minister on approving the Planning for exploration, exploitation, processing and use of minerals for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Dak Nong is planned to have 5 clusters of bauxite mineral mines.
In which, Nhan Co cluster (invested and in operation). The remaining mine clusters (numbers 2, 3, 4, 5) all invest in building new bauxite processing factories.
In the general planning of Dak Nong province, the planning of 4 Alumin factory projects has been built to process bauxite ore, including: Dak Nong 2 Alumin 2 factory project (Dak Glong); Aluminum Dak Nong 3 factory project (Dak Song); Aluminum Dak Nong 4 factory project (Tuy Duc); The Alumin Dak Nong 5 factory project (Dak Glong).
Recently, the locality has promoted the implementation of bauxite cluster 2. According to the plan, this cluster has an Alumin factory, with a total area of 24,000 hectares. The total mobilized reserve is nearly 100 million tons, with an expected exploitation period of over 30 years.

Currently, Viet Phuong Group Joint Stock Company is proposing to build an Alumina Factory complex, with a total area of 441.7 hectares. The plant's planned capacity is 1-2 million tons/year. The total investment is over VND 21,000 billion.
Currently, the land use indicator for mineral activities and the location for the Dak Nong 2 Alumina Factory Project under the Dak Nong 2 Bauxite - Alumina Processing Project complex have been integrated into the Dak Glong district-level land use planning.
According to the People's Committee of Dak Glong district, the proposed project implementation area with the current status is mainly agricultural land. Most of them are land for growing crops with about 108 hectares and some areas of land for growing annual crops with about 22 hectares.
The above area has been stably cultivated by people for a long time and there are about 60 houses built by households for living and farming. Of which, there are about 250 people, who may be affected and relocated when implementing the project.
Dak Glong district has pre-planned 2 resettlement areas with about 45 hectares to serve land recovery, compensation and resettlement support when the State reclaims land. This is to implement projects for national interests and public interests in the area.
Dak Nong Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Thanh Danh directed that from the province to the district and commune, they must take action with a determined and resolute spirit to issue a policy to start the factory before April 30, 2025.
