The T3 passenger terminal construction project - Tan Son Nhat International Airport is invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV).

In particular, package No. 12 "Construction and installation of equipment for the T3 passenger terminal of Tan Son Nhat International Airport" (package No. 12) was invited for bidding in April 2023.

On August 9, 2023, ACV announced Decision 3288/QD-TCTCHKVN approving the results of the selection of contractors to implement package No. 12.

The winning bidder was a consortium of 6 contractors including: Hanoi Construction Joint Stock Corporation ( Hancorp); Construction Joint Stock Corporation No. 1 (CC1); Corporation 319 (Ministry of National Defense); Truong Son Construction Corporation; RICONS Construction Investment Joint Stock Company; Luu Nguyen Construction Limited Liability Company. The winning bid price was more than VND 9,034 billion.

According to the approved contractor selection results, the contract implementation period is 600 days from the date ACV issued the order to start construction and hand over the site to the construction consortium. The completion time includes holidays, holidays, and Tet, but does not include force majeure cases.

The T3 Passenger Terminal Construction Project - Tan Son Nhat International Airport includes 3 main items: passenger terminal, high-rise parking lot combined with non-airspace services and overpass system in front of the terminal. Of which, capital is mobilized from ACV's equity (70%) and commercial loans (30%).

On April 19, 2025, ACV held an inauguration ceremony for the T3 Passenger Terminal Construction Project - Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

The project includes main items: Passenger terminal, high-rise parking lot combined with non-airspace services, overpass system in front of the terminal and aircraft parking lot.

The Passenger Terminal category has a scale of 1 basement and 4 upper floors, with a total construction floor area of 112,500 m2. The terminal has a similarline to the existing terminal, designed into 2 separate routes, with 90 traditional airline check-in counters, 20 automatic bagdrop counters and 42 check-in kiosks, 27 train departure gates (including 13 gates made of cages and 14 gates made of buses), 6 departure and arrival island handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands, 25 passenger security control gates.

Terminal T3 is designed with 8 security control gates and 1 separate area to serve VIP guests, business class and priority guests.

The high-rise apartment building combined with non-airspace services is a complex of 2 basements, 4 upper floors with a total construction floor area of 130,000 m2, a parking lot, a shopping mall, a hotel, a restaurant serving passengers.

The elevated road system in the 2 elevated levels of the station includes: The second floor has a scale of 2-3 lanes, each lane is 3.5m wide; The third floor has a scale of 2-5 lanes, each lane is 3.5m wide.

T3 Passenger Terminal has a capacity of 20 million passengers/year, meeting 7,000 passengers/peak hour.

Thus, the total capacity of Tan Son Nhat International Airport will be increased to 50 million passengers/year, promising to bring more ventilation and convenience to passengers.

The contractor has constructed many other packages

It is known that the main construction unit of package 12 of terminal T3, Hanoi Construction Joint Stock Corporation ( Hancorp) has won many other packages of ACV.

Typically, package 11 for demolition, groundbreaking, pile foundation, and basement of the project to build the T3 passenger terminal - Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The package was approved in Decision No. 2486/QD-TCTCHKVN dated June 23, 2022.

Package 5.6, construction of piles for the Passenger Terminal project under Component Project 3 - Essential works in the airport under the project "Investment in the construction of Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1". The package was approved in Decision 1019/QD-TCTCHKVN dated March 15, 2022.
